Sad News for Parramatta Eels: He Is Back

The Parramatta Eels have received a bittersweet update regarding one of their key players. Zac Lomax, who suffered a minor foot fracture in Round 5 after kicking a golden point field goal against his former team, the Dragons, is expected to return for the Eels in Round 11. Despite initial hopes he might return next week against the Dolphins, Coach Jason Ryles confirmed this is now unlikely due to necessary healing time for the bone injury.

Lomax’s return is eagerly anticipated, especially as it coincides with a crucial match against the Newcastle Knights. This game serves as his final opportunity to impress NSW coach Laurie Daley before the State of Origin squad is selected. Last year, Lomax was a standout player for the Blues and could again be paired with Eels teammate Mitch Moses, who recently returned from his own foot injury and performed outstandingly in his comeback match.

While Lomax’s return is a positive development, the Eels are also dealing with other challenges. Mitchell Moses, the team’s captain and halfback, was ruled out of the season opener against the Melbourne Storm due to a foot injury. This injury was a recurrence of a previous issue, and the club has taken a cautious approach to ensure Moses is fully fit before returning to play.

In response to these setbacks, the Eels have made strategic moves to bolster their squad. Dylan Walker has joined the team after being granted an early release from his contract with the New Zealand Warriors. Walker, known for his versatility and experience, is expected to play a significant role in the Eels’ lineup.

Additionally, the Eels have secured the services of Josh Addo-Carr, who joins the club after a brief period away from the NRL. Addo-Carr’s speed and scoring ability are expected to add depth to the Eels’ backline.

As the season progresses, the Eels will look to integrate these returning and new players into their lineup, aiming to overcome the challenges posed by recent injuries and continue their pursuit of success in the NRL.
