Molly Miller Named New Head Coach of Arkansas Razorbacks Women’s Basketball
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas has officially appointed Molly Miller as the new head coach of the Razorbacks women’s basketball team. The announcement comes shortly after the departure of Mike Neighbors, who stepped down after eight seasons leading the program. Miller arrives with a strong coaching résumé, known for her up-tempo playing style and winning pedigree at both the Division I and Division II levels.
A Proven Winner
Miller joins Arkansas after a highly successful tenure at Grand Canyon University (GCU), where she turned the Lopes into one of the most dominant programs in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). During the 2024-25 season, she led GCU to an outstanding 30-2 record, including a 28-game winning streak and an undefeated conference run. Under her leadership, the team made its mark as a fast-paced, high-energy squad that excelled on both ends of the court.
Before her time at GCU, Miller built a powerhouse at Drury University, a Division II program in Missouri. Over six seasons, she compiled an incredible 180-17 record, earning two WBCA Division II Coach of the Year awards (2019, 2020). Her teams consistently ranked among the nation’s best in scoring, defense, and turnover margin.
Arkansas’ Search for a New Leader
Following a disappointing 10-22 season, Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek sought a fresh start for the women’s basketball program. With Miller’s track record of winning and developing talent, she quickly emerged as one of the top candidates for the job.
“We are thrilled to welcome Molly Miller to the Razorback family,” Yurachek said in a statement. “Her ability to build successful programs, develop players, and bring an exciting brand of basketball to the court is exactly what we need. We believe she will energize our program and connect with the passionate Razorback fanbase.”
What Miller Brings to Arkansas
Miller is known for her aggressive defensive schemes and high-scoring offenses. At Drury and GCU, her teams consistently ranked among the top in steals, points per game, and defensive efficiency. She prioritizes a full-court press style, forcing opponents into turnovers and pushing the tempo.
In addition to her coaching philosophy, Miller is also recognized as a strong recruiter. She has developed numerous all-conference players and has a reputation for maximizing talent. Arkansas hopes she can use her recruiting skills to attract top-tier athletes to Fayetteville and revitalize the program in the highly competitive SEC.
A New Era for Razorbacks Women’s Basketball
Miller’s hiring marks a significant step forward for Arkansas as they aim to become contenders in the SEC once again. With her history of success and ability to turn programs around quickly, expectations will be high for her tenure.
“I’m honored to lead this program and can’t wait to get started,” Miller said. “Arkansas has a rich basketball tradition, and I’m excited to build something special here.”
Razorback fans will now look ahead to the 2025-26 season, eager to see how Miller’s fast-paced system translates to SEC competition.
