Arsenal enter £70m Tottenham and Liverpool transfer race
The ‘mass clear out’ is expected in North London after another season that looks likely to end without a trophy.
Arteta’s hopes of a Premier League title race are fading while a Champions League triumph would be somewhat of a miraculous achievement.
Arsenal set for mass exodus
Having tried and failed to land Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins as a marquee signing in January, all signs point to a summer of investment with the financial backing there.
The Mirror lists the seven stars who could leave Arsenal for that to happen – some without a fee as free agents, but that would still free up space on the wage bill.
The outlet claims that loanees Raheem Sterling and Neto will head back to Chelsea and AFC Bournemouth without plans for a return.
Meanwhile, Thomas Partey, Jorginho and Kieran Tierney are all set to be out of contract and are believed to be heading towards free agent status.
Jorginho and Tierney came close to leaving in January with Flamengo and Celtic interested, but nothing came to fruition from those rumours.
Finally, defensive pair Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior are expected to be sold as they are no longer part of Arteta’s long term plan at the Emirates.

As well as splurging on a striker, Fichajes this weekend claimed that bringing in a new centre-back is top of the priority list for the Gunners.
Arteta has a trusted pairing at the heart of defence in William Saliba and Gabriel, but the signing of Guehi from Crystal Palace would certainly add strength in depth.
The report claims that Guehi’s leadership, Premier League experience and ball playing skills have turned the head of Arteta.
Unfortunately for Arsenal, they are not the only top flight club eyeing up the player.
Marc Guehi transfer demand
Newcastle United saw a £65 million bid rejected last summer and could return again this year hoping for a different outcome with the player entering the final 12 months of his deal next season.
Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are also regularly linked with transfer interest in the player.
The BBC reported that Crystal Palace had rejected a £70 million bid from Spurs for Guehi in the final days of the January transfer window, Spurs instead turning to Kevin Danso to strengthen their injury-plagued back line.
Speaking about Guehi’s future at the start of January, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner said:
“No player from our squad came to me and said [they] want to leave.
No one.
“No one that played all the games, all the minutes, like Marc, and no one from the players who didn’t play so many minutes.
This is the most relevant part: what the player tells me.
“If one is coming and says they want to leave and both clubs find an agreement, I think it will happen.
But as long as a player doesn’t come — and Marc didn’t come — I am really not concerned he will leave.”
In other news, Arsenal are reported to have ‘reached an agreement’ with a Borussia Dortmund winger ahead of a potential summer move.
