Would have been a disaster; Two transfer Potter stopped West Ham from making
There is deadline day drama today as Graham Potter intervenes to stop one of his players being sold to Dutch giants Feyenoord.
West Ham’s transfer activity proved to be a touch underwhelming as the window slammed shut overnight.
The Hammers did end their long hunt for a new striker by bringing in Evan Ferguson from Brighton.
But many West Ham fans aren’t happy that the deal is only a straight loan.
That means the Hammers could find themselves back at square one to sign a new forward or two in the summer.
West Ham also wanted a new midfielder.
In the end links to some exciting, powerful young players in that position came to nothing.
Although West Ham did bring back James Ward-Prowse after mutually agreeing to terminate his season-long loan at Forest.
A number of players were linked with West Ham exits ahead of the deadline.
Niclas Fullkrug’s injury put paid to an expected departure for the German.

Guido Rodriguez, Jean-Clair Todibo, Vladimir Coufal, Andy Irving, Danny Ings and Luis Guilherme were also linked with moves away from West Ham.
Deadline day passed without much by way of news in or out, though.
Now a major story has developed involving the Hammers on Holland’s deadline day.
There is drama as Graham Potter intervenes to stop West Ham selling star to Dutch giants.
There has been intense speculation throughout the winter window that the Hammers were keen to offload young Brazilian teenager Luis Guilherme.
West Ham paid Palmeiras around £20m to bring the untested 18-year-old attacker over from Brazil in the summer.
The Tim Steidten signing has barely featured for the Irons since arriving in east London.
There have been all manner of rumours and reports about Guilherme and why he has failed to establish himself in the first team squad.
Potter stops Guilherme move to Feyenoord
From gossip that he has failed to impress in training to more legitimate evidence of underwhelming cameo displays here and there.
There had been reports of interest from Saudi Arabia and West Ham insisted they would only sell Guilherme if they recouped their original outlay.
Guilherme was in the Hammers squad at Chelsea on deadline day, though, suggesting he would be staying in London.
The young attacker actually came on in the defeat to Chelsea.
After a difficult start, Guilherme impressed with some positive glimpses of his talent.
His cameo was one of the big positives from the harsh defeat.
Now it has emerged that Feyenoord have made a bid for Guilherme today – ahead of the Dutch transfer deadline.
Some West Ham fans have been frustrated by the prospect of the club giving up on Guilherme too soon.
Well there’s good news on that front thanks to Potter.
West Ham decide to keep Guilherme after ‘multiple bids’
According to a club source speaking to Sean Whetstone, Potter has stopped West Ham selling Guilherme to Feyenoord because he very much rates him.
And it has been claimed Feyenoord’s offer was not the only bid – suggesting Guilherme is highly rated among European scouts.
Whetstone claims Potter has decided to keep Guilherme despite the club receiving multiple bids for the Brazilian over the transfer window.
“No, we decided to keep him, despite bids,” a senior West Ham source told Whetstone about the offer from Feyenoord.
As well as rating Guilherme, something else may well have come into Potter’s thinking.
Devastating news has emerged today that Crysencio Summerville will be out for up to two months.
And with Mohammed Kudus’ struggles continuing – and his future beyond the summer uncertain – it’s clear Potter wanted to keep Guilherme around.
