Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs are set to promote at least two of their academy stars to the first team.
Having signed just three players during the January transfer period, Amakhosi are reportedly looking to promote Naledi Hlongwane and Siphesihle Tati.
According to Soccer Laduma, the Soweto giants are in a process of promoting young Hlongwane to the first team in the next weeks.
“What I can tell you now is that the promotion process is as good as done,” an insider told SoccerLaduma.
Kaizer Chiefs signed three players this transfer period
“They have already allocated jersey number 35 to him and he travelled with the team to Durban for the game against Sekhukhune United. It was thought that he was supposed to have played the game, but they changed the decision in the last minute
“[Regarding] the contract, it’s an initial three-year senior team contract and it will run until June 2028. So, yes, things are working out for the youngsters at Chiefs right now.”
Regarding Tati, Soccer Laduma said that Kaizer Chiefs thinks the youngster is a perfect fit.
“They [Kaizer Chiefs] were looking at signing at least one more attacking midfielder but the team’s scouts and the youth technical team have now recommended that Tati be promoted instead as he already understands the club culture and can easily fit into the team,” a source confirmed.
“The only thing I am not sure, and I don’t know is whether it will be now in the last half of this season or next season.”
According to the publication, Kaizer Chiefs is set to offer both youngsters with three-year deals.
“They are convinced that he has what it takes to be part of the team and help it in some way hence the three-year contract is worth it.”
Should Amakhosi only focus on youngsters?

Chiefs remain alert for more key signings, with a particular star emerging as a top target ahead of the July transfer window.
Kaizer Chiefs new transfer plans revealed despite making January signings.
Chiefs bolstered their squad in the January transfer window with three new signings: Thabo Cele, Tashreeq Morris, and Glody Makabi Lilepo. However, the club remains determined to secure a top-quality striker in the next transfer window.
A source close to the club confirmed that the Chiefs’ technical team has urged management to prioritize signing a clinical number nine in the upcoming window.
Hunt for a goal-scoring machine
“It’s true they have signed three players in January, but none of them fills the number nine role they desperately need,” the source revealed. “That’s why the hunt for a striker continues. The club had already identified some options, but they will also scout new talents throughout the remainder of the season. Analysts and scouts will present fresh targets for the July transfer window.”
Among the potential signings, Pyramids FC’s Congolese striker Fiston Mayele remains a key target for head coach Nasreddine Nabi and the Amakhosi.
“As much as they are still looking for a striker or multiple options for next season, Fiston Mayele remains a priority,” the source confirmed. “They have other forwards on their radar, but Mayele is the primary focus for the next window. Chiefs have made it clear—they need a top finisher, an outright number nine. That’s their main target now.”
Chiefs’ current striker dilemma
Right now, Chiefs rely on young Wandile Duba, Ashley Du Preez, Ranga Chivaviro, and newly signed Tashreeq Morris as their striking options. While these players bring depth to the squad, the club remains unconvinced that they possess the firepower needed to lead the line effectively
With the July transfer window approaching, Amakhosi fans can expect major movements as the club intensifies its search for a prolific goal scorer. Chiefs’ management and scouting team are working tirelessly, analyzing different options to find the perfect striker who can turn their attacking fortunes around. Supporters are eager to see who will be brought in to solve the team’s goal-scoring struggles. Will Fiston Mayele be the answer to their striking woes, or will the club identify a new, unexpected target? The coming months will reveal how Chiefs plan to reinforce their frontline and improve their offensive prowess.
