Tottenham to face German competition for Dibling?

Tottenham transfer news: Spurs facing battle to land Southampton star this month?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to face German competition for Southampton prodigy Tyler Dibling.

The 18-year-old has burst onto the Premier League scene this term, attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United, who are said to be targeting the star.

Dibling, back on the South Coast following a spell in the Chelsea youth system, has provided a bright spark during a difficult period for Southampton.

There have been plenty of memorable moments for the teenager so far for the Saints, including goals against Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace in the top flight.

However, collecting just six points from 23 games, Southampton are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League standings and appear set for relegation to the Championship.

Tottenham to face German competition for Dibling?

According to The Sun, there are a number of sides from Germany who are willing to battle Tottenham for the services of Southampton’s Dibling this year.

The report claims that one of those outfits is RB Leipzig, with the Red Bull-owned club making the 18-year-old their main target for the summer window.

As well as Die Roten Bullen, it is understood that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also keen on sealing the signature of Dibling in the near future.

The Bavarians are supposedly hopeful that the prospect of lining up alongside England legend Harry Kane will be enough to lure the winger to the Allianz Arena.

Throwing their hat in the ring, Borussia Dortmund are monitoring the progress of Dibling and could make an official swoop in the coming months.

Southampton look to hold onto Dibling

A mammoth 11 points behind Leicester City in the relative comfort of 17th, Southampton need to gain any advantage they can in their hopeless pursuit of survival.

Dibling has been a bright spark in a dim campaign for the Saints, with Ivan Juric‘s arrival doing little to revive the fortunes of the South Coast outfit.

The 18-year-old leaving in the middle of the campaign could essentially confirm relegation, given his importance to Southampton in attacking areas.
