West Ham are set to return with another bid for Ricardo Pepi worth £29.3million, according to Rik Elfrink.

The Eindhovens Dagblad journalist reported on 30 January that after the first bid was turned down, the Hammers are unlikely to give up the chase for the PSV Eindhoven striker.

Fabrizio Romano reported on X on 29 January that the Hammers tabled a £20.9million bid for the United States striker which was a loan with an obligation to buy, and was rejected by the Dutch side.

Via X, Elfrink wrote: “Fireworks on the transfer market expected at PSV in the coming week. West Ham United will return with €35million for Pepi, is the expectation.”

West Ham appear to be prioritising Ricardo Pepi’s transfer

In the final days of the transfer window, the 22-year-old appears to be the club’s primary target for bolstering their striking options.

Despite the initial bid being rejected, the Hammers do not seem deterred and are poised to make another attempt to secure the services of United States international.

This persistence underscores the urgency and desire from the Irons to reinforce their forward line, especially with Pepi’s potential to be a quality addition to their squad.

With the transfer deadline approaching, the coming days could see fireworks in the transfer market as the London club should ramp up their pursuits.

It remains to be seen if PSV are willing to play ball as they will also need to sign a replacement if they cash in on him.

That said, they might not get this kind of money for him again so may be tempted to part ways in this window.
