Chelsea have Wednesday meeting to try and seal signing – Blues in advanced talks – Sport Witness
Chelsea are keen on signing Corinthians youngster Denner, according to multiple claims from Brazil.
The 16-year-old was promoted to the Brazilian club’s U20 side last summer and has made 18 appearances for them so far.
He’s yet to make his debut for the senior team but has managed to attract Chelsea’s attention.
UOL now state Chelsea are making advances to agree a deal with Corinthians for the left-back’s transfer.
Denner is one of the revelations of the club’s academy and has a low release clause valid for the domestic market [other Brazilian clubs].
Corinthians tried to offer him an improved contract, but his representatives are favouring the Blues offer.
Enzo Maresca’s side have made a proposal of €8m plus €4.5m in bonuses if he fulfils certain sporting goals. UOL state the operation is at an ‘advanced stage’.
Globo Esporte also report the South American club are in advance negotiations to sell Denner to the Blues.
The transfer operation could reach €12.5m including bonuses.
Corinthians weren’t initially considering discussing a sale with the Premier League side, but the fear of losing him to another Brazilian club [due to the low release clause] made them change their stance.
Chelsea are making progress and the report states a meeting on Wednesday ‘could seal the deal’ for Denner.
Even though Chelsea seem close to agreeing fee with Corinthians, the fullback won’t be able to arrive at Stamford Bridge until he turns 18 in February 2026.
