Kaizer Chiefs transfer tactics SLAMMED by club legend! Chiefs have the habit of opting for experience over potential

Kaizer Chiefs are becoming predictable in who they target. One of their former servants has called for change.

Kaizer Chiefs have a habit of opting for experience over potential, signing 30-year-old Tashreeq Morris over long-term target Asenele Velebayi.

The Glamour Boys, who sit fifth on the log, are gearing up for Saturday’s Soweto derby, but first, they have some business to do.

According to reports, AmaKhosi is eyeing Orlando Pirates legend and now Mamelodi Sundowns man Thembinkosi Lorch, which would be one of the most bizarre summer signings, even by Kaizer Chiefs’ standards.

Gqosha say’s no

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs captain Lifa Gqosha has called out the Soweto giants for signing veterans, saying, “Are we becoming a retirement village? It feels like we are turning into an old age home,

“Is it possible to build a team with players who are 30 years old and above? I understand the need for experience, but are they not satisfied with the experienced players they already have?

“When building a team, you must invest in youngsters. I’m not questioning Lorch’s abilities, but at his age, how long can he maintain his form?,

“As a player myself, I would take advantage of such opportunities because it is a chance to earn money. Yet, at the same time, there may be a strong desire to play and prove critics wrong complicates the situation,” Gqosha added.

“Ultimately, I don’t believe that such a signing would help solve Kaizer Chiefs’ problems. For me, it’s a definite no.”

Whether Kaizer Chiefs sign Lorch is a mystery, but it alludes to their transfer tactics, which seem dictated by experience over youth – perhaps, this is where they are going wrong?
