Magesi to beat Kaizer Chiefs to top this African international prospect.

Chiefs may be getting close to a few signings in this window but looks like they missed out on a young prospect to Magesi FC

Kaizer Chiefs have been looking for quality players to bring into their squad in this January transfer window.

After a quiet start, things look to have been rather frantic when it comes to Chiefs’ transfer dealings.

Chiefs looking to sign experienced players

Chiefs have been placing an emphasis on recruiting experienced players of high calibre to assist their team. This has been evident in the players that they have either reach an agreement on, or a targeting. The likes of Tashreeq Morris, Glody Lilepo, Thabo Cele and now Thembinkosi Lorch. All of those players are 27 and above and have a proven record of playing topflight football. These being the type of players coach Nasreddine Nabi was crying out for.

Now according to Soccer-Laduma, one player they were targeting who is both young and experienced is Thubelihle Mavuso. The 23-year-old plays for Nsingiza Hotspurs in his native eSwatini, who he is an international for. It is believed that Chiefs have been showing interest in him, but could now be heading to Magesi FC insead!

“He played against Stellenbosch FC in the CAF Confederation Cup and they were happy. But they have also monitored him while playing for the national team and they made their decision to bring him on board. He is a very skilful young player who will benefit the club if they use him in the right way. It’s a very good signing for Magesi at this stage,” said one source on Dikwena beat Chiefs to Mavuso.

Missed out on Mavuso to Magesi?

A second source claims Chiefs did not follow up after declaring interest in Mavuso.

“I really think Chiefs have lost out on this player. Thubelihle (Mavuso) is a very good midfielder and he could have fitted very well at Chiefs but that is how football is. You win some, you lose some. Magesi have gained a very good player and I don’t think he will stay much longer there as well,” said the source to the same publication.
