City transfer news as Walker makes pledge and Pep drops hint amid fresh twist

Pep Guardiola and Kyle Walker have parted ways with the defender having moved to AC Milan
Manchester City could add further signings to their squad this month having already splashed out more than £100million on three signings.
City have added striker Omar Marmoush and defensive duo Abdukodir Khusanov and Victor Reis to their squad in the past few days but the squad still seems short, particularly at right back with Kyle Walker having left for AC Milan on loan with the Serie A side having an option to buy, and in central midfield.
Injuries haven’t helped City’s depth but boss Pep Guardiola, speaking ahead of his side’s crucial Premier League game with Chelsea, did not rule out more incoming transfers this month. City have an interest in Atalanta midfielder Ederson but accept that will be a difficult deal to do in the winter window while former Blue Douglas Luiz, now at Juventus, is also an option but City would only seek a low-cost loan move for the Brazilian, an option Juventus are likely to find unattractive.
Reports have also emerged linking City with a swoop for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich. The Germany international is out of contract in the summer and has yet to agree fresh terms amid interest from the Premier League. Liverpool have been linked with a move for the 29-year-old while Barcelona are also suitors.
Kimmich can also operate at right back, a position City need reinforcements in with Walker having moved to Italy. City are keen on Juventus full back Andrea Cambiaso who could be a long term succession to Walker. The 34-year-old’s message to fans on social media did not suggest he is anticipating returning to the Etihad despite having 18 months to run on his contract and Milan having an option, not an obligation, to buy the full-back in the summer.
And Walker took to X on Friday night to pledge to give his all to his new club, who face Parma this weekend before a crucial Champions League tie against Dinamo Zagreb next week.
“I’m delighted and proud to sign for AC Milan! A club with such rich history, one I’ve followed since I was a kid,” he wrote. “It’s an honour to join and I can’t wait to pull on the Rossoneri shirt and get started.
