Kaizer Chiefs to re-sign this former player for double the price.
Just over a year on after selling him, Kaizer Chiefs management are now plotting to sign their former talent. Does it make sense?
Kaizer Chiefs management are planning to re-sign a player they expelled just over a year ago.
Amakhosi academy star Puso Dithejane was one of seven Chiefs youngsters suspended after refusing to be ball-boys for a first team match.
Dithejane was quickly snapped up by TS Galaxy where he swiftly rose to prominence, making 30 appearances for them thus far.
And now, Kaizer Chiefs allegedly regret their decision and are keen on buying him back from Galaxy.
Morris to Kaizer Chiefs confirmed by Hunt
According to reports, Galaxy had to buy Dithejane out from his contract at Chiefs for R1.5 million and now, they stand to make a massive profit by selling him back to the Amakhosi at a premium price.
“You remember the Sporting Director talked about short term and long term plans?” an insider told Soccer Laduma.
“One of the long term plans is believed to be working on bringing Puso (Dithejane) back to the team in the off season. We are all human and we make mistakes, and, so what if the team made a mistake and they want the player back?”
In other news, Kaizer Chiefs management are rushing to secure the future of one of their top academy stars.
Nasreddine Nabi has not been shy to throw youngsters into the deep-end this season, and that looks set to continue.
Amakhosi reserve team striker Naledi Hlongwane is the latest star on the talent conveyor belt at Naturena!
The Kaizer Chiefs youngster made a name for himself after scoring a brace for the Carling All Stars team in their triumph over Magesi FC. He was named Man-of-The-Match, bagging a handsome R100 000 in prize money.
Hlongwane set to wear Jersey 35 for Chiefs
“What I can tell you now is that the promotion process is as good as done. They have already allocated jersey number 35 to him and he traveled with the team to Durban for the game against Sekhukhune United,” an insider told Soccer Laduma regarding the Kaizer Chiefs youngster.
“It was thought that he was supposed to have played in that game but they changed the decision in the last minute.
“Yes, coming to the contract, it’s an initial three-year senior team contract and it will run until June 2028. So, yes, things are working out for the youngsters at Chiefs right now.”
