Heung-min Son makes shocking backroom revelation on Ange

Heung-min Son admits what is happening at Tottenham is something he’s never experienced before

Following their defeat against Arsenal in the North London Derby, Tottenham Hotspur have slumped to 13th in the Premier League.

Tottenham have only won one of their last nine Premier League matches, a record that you’d associate with a team at threat of relegation.

That’s not a conversation Ange Postecoglou will currently be concerned about, but after 21 games played Spurs are only eight points ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers, who saw fit to sack Gary O’Neil.

14 Crystal Palace 21 5 9 7 -5 24

15 Man Utd 20 6 5 9 -5 23

Postecoglou will always point to his injury crisis in N17, which is perfectly fair, but Tottenham do need to find a way to be more resolute even when they are missing key players.

Heung-min Son admits Tottenham are in a predicament he’s ‘never’ seen

That being said, Spurs captain Heung-min Son shared some interesting comments in the fallout of the defeat to Arsenal.

Speaking to Spurs Play, Son spoke about Tottenham being far too passive in the first half against Arsenal, and then admitted that he’d never experienced the club being in such a poor position since he arrived in north London.

Son Heung-Min and Djed Spence of Tottenham Hotspur appeals to the officials as they walk off at half time of the Premier League match between Arsen…

Son said: “The manager spoke to us as well [at half time]. I think we were way too passive, which we never play like this.

“That’s why it’s frustrating more. You just realise why, especially when you go ahead away from home, you have to practice these results. It’s really frustrating. What can I say? It’s just a very, very painful night.”

Then asked about what he’s saying to Tottenham’s players, Son continued: “I can’t speak highly enough of the boys for the work rate and commitment. It’s 100% there.

“But in the game there, certain people including me had to step up, and those days are not important what age you are, experience or inexperience, I think it’s not important.

“You play for the club and the badge and have to take more responsibility.

“I have been here 10 years, never been in this position, so we are going to have to just make sure everybody is ready for the weekend.”

Ange Postecoglou needs to take some of the blame at Tottenham

Despite Spurs’ failings, Postecoglou has seemingly remained a very popular figure in N17, partly because he’s such a likable character.

However, Aaron Lennon was disappointed with Postecoglou’s tactics at Arsenal, feeling as if he ultimately hindered his players.

Dejan Kulusevski complimented Arsenal after the win, comments which Spurs fans won’t enjoy – they would surely much rather he was speaking up his own team after a Derby victory.

A very difficult period for Son, Postecoglou and everyone associated with Tottenham.

And it does feel as if Daniel Levy needs to back Postecoglou in the transfer market this month or start a new project with a new manager.
