JUST IN : Nottingham Forest and Fulham Rule Out €45m Transfer Fee – Here’s Why
“Two days ago, Tuttosport reported that Nottingham Forest and Fulham are both interested in signing Juventus’ Douglas Luiz, with the Reds already making contact. The report also mentioned that both clubs have the financial resources to meet Juventus’ asking price in the winter transfer window. However, Saturday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport examines the likelihood of either club securing the midfielder’s signature.”
It’s reported that Nottingham Forest, Fulham, and Manchester City are all monitoring the situation of Brazil international Douglas Luiz. Since joining Juventus from Aston Villa last summer, Luiz has made just two starts for the Serie A side. While there were expectations he would replace Manuel Locatelli in midfield, Locatelli has firmly established his place under manager Thiago Motta.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the 26-year-old could make his third start today against Torino, as discussions around his future continue. It’s suggested Luiz will be available for transfer, particularly if a compelling offer from England arrives.
Juventus are reportedly seeking €45 million for the Brazilian, but the report indicates this fee is “difficult to obtain.” The club appears to have accepted that neither Nottingham Forest nor Fulham will meet that demand, and any permanent move will likely involve a lower transfer fee.
