Tottenham vs Wolves: Ange Postecoglou receives fresh injury news; He’s out
Ange Postecoglou has confirmed both Richarlison and Mikey Moore will return to Tottenham Hotspur training next week.
Neither will be ready in time for Sunday’s clash with Wolves but the pair might return to the matchday squad against Newcastle United next Saturday in what is Spurs’ first game of 2025.
Moore has not been available since the first week of November due to a virus that took its toll on his condition. Meanwhile, Richarlison has not played since sustaining a hamstring setback that same week.
The Brazilian has only made five Premier League appearances this season, none of which have been starts, having also missed eight games across September and October due to injury.
Moore earned his only league start of the season so far against Crystal Palace in October – the last time he played in the competition – after impressing during previous stints on the left wing.
Both he and Richarlison are due back in training during the final days of 2024, Postecoglou has confirmed.
Speaking ahead of Wolves, the Spurs boss said: “Yeah, him [Moore] and Richy in the final phases. Next week they can start training. We’ve got a bit of a gap before the Newcastle game. The plan is Mikey and Richy come back into first-team training next week.”
Tottenham are meanwhile at risk of having no fit centre-backs for today’s clash with Wolves. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are not due back until the new year while Ben Davies is set for a few weeks on the sidelines.
Radu Dragusin might be available but remains a doubt after sustaining a knock to his ankle this week. Full-back Djed Spence is out due to suspension while first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been given a return date of March following last month’s ankle surgery.
Wilson Odobert is not expected back for some time after undergoing a hamstring operation in November. Meanwhile, Wolves – who have won their last two games under new boss Vitor Pereira – have six injury concerns.
Mario Lemina is the only one who might return on Sunday – Pablo Garcia, Boubacar Traore and Sasa Kalajdzic are not expected back until January or February while Enso Medina and Yerson Mosquera are out for the season with knee issues.
