SAD NEWS: Nottingham Forest shares Murillo update

What is happening at Nottingham Forest regarding a new contract for Murillo

Nottingham Forest appear to be looking to the future with a number of new contracts for star men, and Graeme Bailey has now shared what’s going on with Murillo at Nottingham Forest.

Nuno Espirito Santo is a man on a mission right now at Nottingham Forest, as he looks to repeat the success of achieving European football with Wolves.

Murillo has played a huge part in the success off Forest this season, certainly on the defensive end. He’s helped transform the defence to become the second best in the Premier League, and he’s not done yet.

The reward for Murillo recently was a call-up to the Brazilian national side, which will give him the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the world’s best.

There could potentially be another reward on the way at some point in the future, as Graeme Bailey spoke on Murillo’s current contract situation at Nottingham Forest.

Graeme Bailey shares Murillo contract latest at Nottingham Forest

We spoke to HITC Football journalist Graeme Bailey, who gave us the latest on Murillo’s current situation at Nottingham Forest after an impressive start to the season.

He exclusively told Nottingham Forest News: “I haven’t heard so much on a new deal, but again, it wouldn’t be one that surprises me. I think it’s a reward but I haven’t heard anything on a Murillo new deal.

“But Forest are calm on the situation. They know that at some point he probably will go, but it all depends on the fee. But they class him as one of the best young central defenders in Europe.”

Murillo has attracted interest from Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window, so Forest may be forced to try and move quickly.

He’s also from Brazil, so there’s that natural connection between him and Murillo.

Interestingly, Edu has already made people aware of his admiration for Murillo, as he tried to get Mikel Arteta to sign him for Arsenal in the summer.

However, it just didn’t materalise and the player will be glad it didn’t as this season has elevated him even more.

You would hope that the former Arsenal chief will naturally want to keep him at Nottingham Forest, should that be a part of his job under Evangelos Marinakis.
