Good news: West Brom New offer could just lure target to The Hawthorns
West Brom lodge bid for new target
West Brom have launched a loan bid for Juventus midfielder Joseph Nonge Boende, according to reporter Sacha Tavolieri on X.
West Brom are keen to land the Serie A youngster this summer as they hunt for more signings under Carlos Corberan. They won 3-1 away at QPR on the opening day last weekend but were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two side Fleetwood Town last night.
Nonge, 19, has been on the books at Juventus since 2019 and they have a decision to make on what to do with him next. Prior to his switch to Italy, he rose up through the ranks at Anderlecht.
In this latest update regarding the player’s situation in this transfer window, journalist Tavolieri has claimed on X that the Baggies want to land him on a temporary basis without an option to buy. Corberan is said to have already held talks with the target.
West Brom want midfielder
West Brom have lost Okay Yokuslu to Trabzonspor recently so could see Nonge as someone to step into his shoes and fill the void left by his exit.
The teenager is under contract at Juventus until June 2026 meaning they are under no pressure to cash in on him anytime soon.
West Brom, West Brom lodge bid for new target
A loan move to the Hawthorns would help him get some experience under his belt and the chance to play regular football. His chances of nailing down a place in Juve’s starting XI are slim at the moment due to the abundance of options that they have at their disposal in his position.
Nonge progressed through Anderlecht’s academy before moving to Italy three years ago.
He has since made four senior appearances for Juventus in all competitions and has represented them at various different levels.
The Belgium youth international has never been loaned out though and could benefit from getting out of his comfort zone now.
What next for West Brom target?
It is yet to be known whether West Brom’s offer will be accepted or rejected.
In the meantime, they are back in action this weekend with a home clash against Leeds United as they look to make it two wins from two in the league.
They then finish August with fixtures against Stoke City and Swansea City.
Corberan’s side reached the play-offs last term but were beaten at the semi-finals stage by eventual winners Southampton over two legs.
