Alasdair Gold discusses what he knows about Jacob Ramsey in light of rumors that Tottenham has placed an offer for him. Gold shares what he’s heard about Jacob Ramsey after claims Tottenham have made bid to sign him
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey in recent days.
Tottenham’s interest dates back to January as Ange Postecoglou’s side weighed up a move for the midfielder.
Jacob Ramsey is coming off a difficult season at Villa Park after featuring just 16 times in the Premier League due to injuries.
But the 23-year-old is attracting interest from Spurs this summer, with technical director Johan Lange said to be a huge fan of the player.
Of course, Lange previously worked at Villa before sealing a move to Tottenham in November last year and Postecoglou also reportedly views Ramsey as an ideal fit for his system.
There is confidence on Spurs’ side that a deal can be struck for Ramsey after claims an opening bid was knocked back by Unai Emery’s men.
Now, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has shared the latest on Tottenham’s interest in the Villa academy product.

Aston Villa soften Ramsey transfer stance
Speaking in his latest YouTube video, Gold stated that Ramsey was previously viewed as a player who is not for sale by Villa.
But over the past couple of days, there has been a ‘growing feeling’ that he could be available for the right price.
“Spurs, I think, have made enquiries about him, it will all be through representatives and about just whether that injury-hit season has made Villa think twice about it,” the journalist said.
“In January, they very much wanted to keep him and I think suggestions of a bid seemed a little premature, from what I understand. That’s been played down on both sides.”
“What I do know is that the initial indications were that he was absolutely not for sale, that was that,” Gold added. “From what I understand, in the last 48 hours or so, there has been a bit of a loosening in that. Potentially, there is a growing feeling he could be available for between £40 million and £50 million.”

Ramsey’s injury record may be a concern for Spurs
Ramsey missed a total of 27 games through injury last season and such problems proved to be a huge problem for Postecoglou.
Injuries to key stars such as Micky van de Ven and James Maddison led to Spurs losing momentum after such a bright start.
With that being said, before last season Ramsey had missed just four games through injury during his Villa career.
It was something of a nightmare campaign for the Englishman last time out but should Tottenham firm up their interest, it would be clear they have little concern over his recent struggles with injuries.

Journalist claims Archie Gray move still open to ‘hijack’ amid Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool links
Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool are just three of the Premier League clubs that have recently been linked with Archie Gray.
The Lilywhites, the Gunners and the Reds are all likely to be busy in the summer transfer window in a bid to strengthen their respective squads.
Tottenham finished fifth in the Premier League table last season, but were in the top-four picture for most of the season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal took the title race to the final day, and Liverpool were also in the picture for much of the campaign.
There is optimism at all three clubs ahead of next season, and there’s certainly scope to make numerous signings to improve their chances of success.
All three have been linked with Gray, an 18-year-old midfielder who is arguably the biggest English talent since Declan Rice.
The Daily Mail recently reported that Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea were all set to battle for Gray this summer.
Meanwhile, GiveMeSport claimed that Liverpool were also tracking the Elland Road wonderkid.

Tottenham one to watch in Archie Gray transfer saga
Earlier today, David Ornstein broke the news involving Brentford and Leeds agreeing a deal for Gray, who is set for a medical.
However, Ben Jacobs has now reported that there’s still the possibility of a hijack – with Tottenham said to be one to watch – as it’s “not totally done yet” with the Bees.
The transfer insider also noted how Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and West Ham have also been linked with Gray in the past.
Jacobs mentioned a £40million package having been agreed between Brentford and Leeds, whose PSR concerns will be allayed by selling Gray.
Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool not yet out of the race for Gray
Although it looked as though it was nailed on between Leeds and Brentford for Gray, this report from Jacobs suggests the race is still open.
Gray is an absolutely outstanding talent who would impress in a Premier League team at just 18 years of age.
Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool continue the fight rather than just give up.
This is certainly a case of watch this space as there could yet be some more twists and turns.

Alasdair Gold says Tottenham are seriously considering making a move for ‘elite’ £25m striker
Spurs got through last year without ever really replacing Harry Kane and the likes of Heung-Min Son, Timo Werner and Brennan Johnson all carried the burden of trying to get goals, while Richarlison only did it fleetingly.
Tottenham, then, feel a new forward is very much a necessity this summer, despite agreeing to bring Werner back for another year.
Of course, with the Euros going on and PSR playing havoc with the English market, it’s tricky at the moment in terms of who might go where.
However, there are names of interest to Tottenham that seem to be confirmed by good sources.
And according to Alasdair Gold, Lille striker Jonathan David is very much one of the players Tottenham are considering right now.
Tottenham have Jonathan David on their list of striker targets
Discussing a number of Tottenham-related matters in a Q&A for Football.London, Gold has said that the Canadian international is very much a feature on Postecoglou’s wish-list.
“Jonathan David is certainly one of the potential targets on the striker shortlist compiled by Lange and Postecoglou.
“There’s a fair bit of interest in him because he’s reached the final year of his contract but at £25m for a striker who has a track record of getting plenty of goals each season that’s understandable.”
David has been linked with a move to England for some time now and has never quite seen a deal get over the line.
However, with the final year of his deal now there for all to see, it looks like a move to England could finally be on.
The likes of Chelsea and Arsenal have expressed an interest in David, while Tottenham, as explained here, could also move.
Dubbed an ‘elite‘ level striker on his day, David smashed in 26 goals last season for Lille to once again demonstrate his abilities in front of goal.

Alasdair Gold shares what he’s been told about Tottenham signing Ebere Eze
The England international is currently away at the Euros but remains one of the most courted players in the Premier League.
Eze’s fine form for Palace, couple with an apparent £60m release-clause, means he is a player very much on Tottenham and others’ radar.
Indeed, it’s even been claimed Tottenham are pushing on with signing Eze and feel they have a big chance at signing him.
However, speaking on the situation, Tottenham journalist Alasdair Gold has offered up a slightly different take on proceedings.
What people are saying about Tottenham signing Ebere Eze
Answering questions for his latest Football.London Q&A, Gold has shared what he’s been told on the situation with Eze and Spurs.
“So many people I’ve spoken to in the game over this past week have been told that Palace are making it clear that Eze is not for sale amid Olise’s impending departure, which does throw the spotlight on that release clause,” Gold said.
“That clause is an interesting one because nobody seems to be able to pin down exactly what it consists of, other than a general acceptance that it’s a complicated one. Some have suggested it’s more to do with money up front while not setting a valuation, while others have said that there is a price tag but it’s complicated.
“For me, for Palace to be quite clear to people that Eze isn’t for sale suggests it’s somehow loaded in their favour whatever form it takes. There’s two months left of this window so lots of time left and transfers always take twists and turns, but at this point Palace seem pretty adamant.”
Eze a game-changer for Tottenham
Tottenham signed James Maddison last summer and the club immediately saw the benefit of his signing as he produced from the get go.
You get the impression the same will happen if Ebere Eze makes the move to Tottenham as well.
Such is his talent, Eze will instantly endear himself to the Tottenham fans who, over the years, have demanded entertaining and easy on the eye football.
Of all the players being linked with Spurs, Eze feels like one who would make the biggest difference.

Tottenham enter race to sign Brazilian winger after West Ham’s bid was rejected
Spurs have made some good moves for exciting young players recently. They have agreed deals for the likes of Luka Vušković, who will join the club in 2025, and of course, Lucas Bergvall, who will be in North London for pre-season this summer.
Tottenham are not stopping there. They are on the market looking for more players who could become stars in the future.
Now, if a report is to be believed, they have set their sights on a Brazilian teenager.
Tottenham want to sign West Ham target Wesley Gassova
Brazil has always produced extraordinary young attackers.
We saw Endrick move to Real Madrid for massive money not too long ago. He’s a superstar in the making, but there are plenty of lesser-known names there as well.
One such player is Wesley Gassova, who is still only 19 years old.
The youngster, who plays his football at Corinthians, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Neo Química Arena this summer.
TBR Football exclusively revealed in April that West Ham United have held talks with the Brazilian side over a deal for Wesley in this window. Chelsea and Manchester United have also looked at him.
Reports revealed recently that West Ham have failed with a bid of €15 million (£12.6 million) to sign Wesley. It was claimed that they would go back in with another bid.
Now, Arena Napoli have revealed that Tottenham have entered the race to sign Wesley, even though the winger has agreed personal terms with Antonio Conte’s Napoli. The Italian side, however, don’t have an agreement with his club yet.
The report adds that West Ham have not gone beyond €20 million (£17 million), while Nottingham Forest’s bid of €25 million (£21.2 million) wasn’t deemed enough for the full rights of the player.
It has been claimed that Tottenham will make their first offer for Wesley in July. Corinthians are demanding €30 million (£25.4 million) to let him go.
Wesley’s style of play
Wesley is very highly rated in Brazil, so much so that he has been likened to Neymar.
The attacker, still only 19, has already played 71 senior games for Corinthians in his career, scoring seven goals and providing five assists so far.
Wesley is naturally a left-winger who loves to cut inside and attack the opposition box. He possesses excellent dribbling skills and has a very good right foot too.
Many in the game believe Wesley has a bright future ahead of him, which is why several clubs are keeping an eye on him in this transfer window.
However, we just can’t see Spurs spending in excess of £25 million to sign a player who averages a goal every 502 minutes.
