Anthony Seibold suffers ANOTHER devastating blow after he was forced to quit as Brisbane Broncos coach amid a ‘family drama’ and horrific rumours about his personal life
Former Brisbane Broncos coach Anthony Seibold has suffered another frustrating setback, with a proposed move to the Newcastle Knights now seemingly off the table.
Seibold, who endured rumours about his personal life from online trolls this year before he split with the eventual NRL wooden spooners, was said to be in the mix for an assistant’s role with the Knights under good mate and head coach Adam O’Brien.
Club powerbrokers are reportedly now looking to go in a different direction in 2021, rattled by the drama surrounding Seibold’s ugly exit from Brisbane this season.
Seibold and O’Brien worked together previously at the Melbourne Storm, and the Knights boss felt the former Rabbitohs and Broncos boss would be a good fit for his football department.
Now the shift to the Steel City, north of Sydney, is unlikely to happen, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Seibold, who was the Dally M Coach of the Year in 2018, didn’t take a backward step against the relentless online trolls.
He described those involved as ‘cowards’, as he fought to clear his name against the baseless claims.
