What Tottenham did for Lucas Bergvall’s brother as club makes classy decision after transfer

The brother of Tottenham’s latest signing benefitted from his move and his club’s new relationship with the Premier League side

Theo Bergvall has already profited from his sibling’s significant transfer to the Premier League team. Lucas is a new acquisition for Tottenham.

18-year-old midfielder Lucas decided last month to join Spurs rather than play for Barcelona, and Bergvall will join Ange Postecoglou’s team on July 1 after joining Swedish team Djurgarden. In addition to formalizing a collaboration with Tottenham that would see youth travel in both directions and a friendly match between the two clubs in the next years, the Allsvenskan team will receive £8.6 million for the teenager.

Recently, Djurgarden sports director Bosse Andersson visited the club’s Hotspur Way training complex to speak with various staff members and watched Spurs defeat Crystal Palace in the Premier League in chairman Daniel Levy’s suite at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Since then, the 55-year-old has disclosed that as part of the clubs’ developing relationship, Tottenham provided support upon Djurgarden’s request following the injury of Lucas’s older brother Theo, a 19-year-old right-back, and the Swedish team’s dissatisfaction with a medical report that addressed the issue.

“When we asked the question, it is true that Tottenham stepped in and offered us specialist help with Theo Bergvall,” Andersson stated to the Swedish news organization FotbollDirekt.

Physiotherapist Kalle Barrling of Djurgarden continued: “It’s true that when we asked, Tottenham opened doors to a specialist clinic quite swiftly. Since we weren’t entirely happy with the advice we were given at first, we got in touch with Tottenham, who was very helpful. Tottenham ensured that we wouldn’t have to wait when we contacted.”
