The ex-girlfriend of former Manchester United defender Sergio Reguilon sobbed after their breakup last year, according to a recently released Spanish reality TV program.
In September of last year, Reguilon, 27, and social media celebrity Marta Diaz, 23, called it quits on their long-term relationship, when Diaz was filming for the popular Spanish television series “El Desafio.”
The show, in which eight celebrities are thrown fresh tasks every week, has only recently been presented on TV, even though the recordings were made six months ago.
In one of the videos, Diaz—who has 3.4 million Instagram followers—is shown visibly battling with her feelings and unable to control them when she starts crying in front of the other competitors.
She clarified her unhappiness by saying, “I’m not crying because of the performance.” Simply said, I’ve had a really difficult week personally.
The couple’s long-term relationship ended in September, and the emotions were clearly still raw for Diaz
Diaz has previously lost her cool on her relationship with Reguilon.
She also made an appearance in the La Vida de Marta Diaz series on Amazon Prime last year, during which she broke down in tears while discussing the Premier League player.
I have a lot I would like to say to Sergio. I am so grateful for… When Diaz began to cry, she said, “For everything.” He has been a huge assistance to me and will continue to do so; he is a pillar of strength.
It is believed that the documentary, in which Reguilon also starred, was shot right before they broke up and was aired a few weeks later.
After finishing ahead of her competitors, Diaz went on to star in “El Desafio” and later stated that she was happy she had decided to participate in spite of her personal problems.
I considered alternative options, believing that they would work out nicely. Although it was difficult for her to focus, she expressed her happiness at having succeeded.
Reguilon played 12 games for the Red Devils until his loan period was terminated and he returned to Tottenham in January. Reguilon had joined United only a few days before his relationship with Diaz ended.
Later that month, he was moved back out on loan to play for Brentford, a Premier League team, and he has since made seven appearances for the Bees.
After joining the Spurs in 2020, Reguilon played frequently over his first two seasons. However, this season, Ange Postecoglou has not included Reguilon in his plans.
With one year left on his contract with the North London team, the six-cap Spanish international looks unlikely to stay at the team given the rise of Destiny Udogie in recent months.
