Spurs moved quickly to sign midfielder Lucas Bergvall of Djurgarden, just hours after the January transfer market closed.
Before Tottenham snuck in and pulled off somewhat of a coup, it was anticipated that the teenager would sign with Barcelona.
Though Bergvall won’t officially join Tottenham until the summer, anticipation is already high.

This afternoon, Djurgarden faced the third-tier team Nordic United in the Svenska Cup.
Bergvall made headlines with a brace as Djurgarden cruised to a 5-0 victory.
To make it 2-0, the midfield player surged forward and slotted in his first goal of the game.
After the interval, Bergvall scored the fourth, and this was a really excellent moment.
After gaining possession inside his own half, the 18-year-old quickly raced past two players.
On his way to the area, Bergvall outpaced a second player. He then danced past two more defenders and the goalkeeper to tap the ball in.
There has been much acclaim for Bergvall in Sweden for this incredible solo goal.
Commentator Peter Backe compared Bergvall to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as reported by Expressen, citing the Swedish legend’s 2004 Ajax goal against NAC Breda as a model for his single effort.
Backe stated, “The last little trick reminds me of a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic.” Former Spurs left back Erik Edman, a Swede, went on to say that Bergvall’s second goal was simply “incredible.”
The opponent’s caliber matters in this case because Bergvall will not be facing opponents like Nordic United in the Premier League.
In that sense, Tottenham supporters won’t be deluded, but it’s difficult not to feel enthused when watching Bergvall shift gears with aggressive runs from midfield.
Bergvall appears really dynamic, possessing skill, grace, and a quick change of pace. Tottenham supporters are eager to watch him play in the preseason this summer.
