Ange Postecoglou praises Tottenham’s ‘three leaders’ after Crystal Palace win

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou praises his leaders for stepping up amid Crystal Palace adversity
Ange Postecoglou is well aware that strong staff and a strong culture are the foundation of any long-term success. An army that can go through and make an impact is made up of strong leaders.
Tottenham is fortunate to have a number of leaders who can have an influence both on and off the field. Ange Postecoglou identified the dressing room leaders who might guide his ideas on the field as one of his first actions as manager of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Players’ armbands are just one aspect of this; their personalities also serve as sources of inspiration during trying times. The North London team had a challenging time this past weekend when they played Crystal Palace. The leaders stepped up, down by a goal and under intense pressure to win all three points in order to maintain their position in the Champions League.
Two straight losses would have dealt a severe blow to Tottenham’s hopes of catching Aston Villa in fourth place. At that point on Saturday at N17, the leader stood up and gave inspiration.
James Maddison took charge of the midfield, and Tottenham’s third goal—scored by Son Heung-Min—took all three points after Cristian Romero’s second goal gave Tottenham the lead.
Ange Postecoglou applauded his leaders’ actions after the game, highlighting the three that confronted the problem yesterday. All three of the previously named individuals demonstrated a mindset and belief that the Australian coach praised. In addition, he gave the fans credit for pushing the team through hardship to defeat Crystal Palace and for being a major factor in the victory.
Ange Postecoglou, speaking with Sky Sports (via the BBC), stated:
“Our three leaders were all excellent. James Maddison (Madders) and Cristian Romero (Romero) contributed to the second goal, while Son Heung-min (Sonny) scored the third. They deserve credit for that. They provide an exemplary example and possess a strong mentality. When we needed them to, they got up.
“The backers have been excellent. They genuinely believe in the work that we are doing. Although we still have a ways to go before we can call ourselves a great football team, I don’t believe anyone has ever left the stadium feeling that the boys didn’t give it their all.
