Tottenham believes they can recruit the “dream” player, Ange Postecoglou, for £45 million this summer

If Conor Gallagher declines to sign a new deal with Chelsea this summer, Tottenham Hotspur is certain they can get him.

For more than six months, the 24-year-old has been connected to a move to the Spurs. Gallagher is so beloved by Ange Postecoglou that he’s been referred to as the Australian’s “dream” signing.

Tottenham think they can sign Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher for £45m

Since the end of the previous season, Conor Gallagher’s future at Chelsea has been uncertain, and Tottenham has been closely monitoring the situation.

Spurs under Ange Postecoglou appear like a whole different team. He has completely changed the team, and nearly every player he has brought in has performed well.

Since taking over as manager of Tottenham, Postecoglou has been keeping an eye on Gallagher, and now that the Chelsea midfielder is heading into his last year of contract this summer, the rumor mill has been at full steam.

James Garner of Everton has been linked to Tottenham as well. Although he is being seen as a Gallagher substitute, journalist Ben Jacobs has since asserted that Chelsea’s midfielder is Spurs’ more likely target.

“Tottenham appreciates the player (Garner), but nothing advanced at this time,” he said to GiveMeSport. Maybe a better candidate is Conor Gallagher.

I also believe that Tottenham might be able to offer a little lower package if Gallagher doesn’t sign a new Chelsea contract and nothing else advances. Mason Mount was a £60 million package to Manchester United, and Chelsea would undoubtedly refer to him and argue that Gallagher is playing better and he only had a year left on his deal. They might so wait for that £55 million to £60 million estimate.

However, I believe Tottenham believes that if Gallagher hasn’t signed a new contract by the summer, he might be available for between £45 million and £50 million. In contrast, they believed that was £5 million or £10 million too much last summer.

“Given Gallagher’s form, they might think that’s pretty decent value this coming summer.”

Tottenham are right to target Gallagher

For Tottenham, Conor Gallagher seems to fit so many requirements, doesn’t he?

Despite only being 24 years old, the Chelsea player has already participated in almost 120 Premier League games. He’s a terrific player who works incredibly hard off the ball and would fit right into Postecoglou’s style.

In fact, we believe that Gallagher would benefit the Australian more than Mauricio Pochettino is presently at Stamford Bridge.

It will be intriguing to watch Gallagher’s summer developments. Although it is likely that he will join Tottenham at the end of this season, Chelsea supporters would hate to see him leave.
