3 Tottenham unprofiting players Ange Postecoglou must sell this summer

As Ange Postecoglou looks ahead to the summer transfer window, here are 3 Tottenham players he must sell.

Although we would like to focus on which players might come in, it’s just as important to address those who will go the other way. With that in mind, here are three Tottenham players who Ange Postecoglou must look to sell in the summer transfer window…

3 Tottenham players who Ange Postcoglou must sell this summer

1. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

This one might be a bitter pill to swallow, but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is not in Ange Postecoglou’s long-term plans. Therefore, it is better to part ways now, rather than cling onto false hope.

The Danish midfielder has slipped further and lower down the hierarchy since the former Celtic manager took over in North London. Even though he was among the greatest players last season, he has relied on his bench teammates’ efforts this season rather than being a definite starter.

This is due to the fact that Hojbjerg is not in the strongest midfield, which isn’t always a reflection of his abilities as a player. It is another evidence of the excellent job Spurs has done in previous seasons throughout the transfer market. In light of Tottenham’s recent attempts to offload Hojbjerg, the player believes it is only right that he be sold in the summer.

2. Sergio Reguilón

Sergio Reguilón is still a Tottenham player, believe it or not. Having signed for the club in 2020, he has been on three different loan spells and never once looked like fighting for his place in the Spurs lineup. Unfortunately, it is no different under Ange Postecoglou.

Therefore, it would benefit all parties if Sergio Reguilón were sold in the summer transfer window. Given how well Given Rico Henry’s long-term injury and the fact he has begun his loan stay at Brentford, I wouldn’t be shocked if he were able to sign a permanent deal there in the summer.

In terms of Tottenham, they probably won’t object to a sale during the summer transfer window. It’s unlikely that he will return prepared to battle for his spot in the Spurs team at this point, considering that he will be entering the final year of his contract following his current loan stay. At 27, Tottenham would be able to raise some much-needed money if they sold him.

3. Tanguy Ndombélé

I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by saying that Tanguy Ndombélé should be sold in the summer. In fact, I’m more wondering why he hasn’t been sold already. Somehow, he is entering his fifth year as a Tottenham player and having been on three loan spells already, he will return to North London in the summer for the final year of his contract.

He is currently with Galatasaray on loan. Nevertheless, his injury keeps him from playing minutes on the board. Although it annoys Galatasaray and Spurs alike, this is the terrible story of Ndombélé’s career thus far.

Ange Postecoglou should sell the midfield player this summer while there’s still a chance for the team to make up ground on its losses. The issue is that wages might be a barrier to signing him, thus they might not have any clubs interested in signing him. He won’t likely play for the Spurs the following season in either case.
