Harry Kane told ‘Spurs will never leave you’ after ‘bottling’ huge Bayern Munich chance
Harry Kane’s pursuit of silverware took another massive blow on Sunday as the ex-Tottenham Hotspur man fluffed his lines in the final minutes of their clash with VFL Bochum
Spurs cannot be removed from a man, but you can remove the man from Spurs.
Harry Kane’s hopes of winning his first significant trophy are fading, as the former Bayern Munich player demonstrated on Sunday that he is still a true Tottenham supporter. Bayern went to struggling VfL Bochum after suffering a setback at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern fell short again, losing 3-2 despite having initially been 1-0 up in the contest. Kane scored the visitors’ second goal but then squandered a glorious opportunity in the final seconds that would have rescued a 3-3 draw.
The England striker had a chance to tie the score but missed from yards away. Even worse, a few moments later, he was accused by supporters of diving for a penalty.
Needless to say, after Kane’s most recent setback at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion, supporters quickly made jokes about how “Spursy” he really is. “You can take Harry Kane out of Tottenham but you can’t take Tottenham out of Harry Kane,” remarked a supporter. “It’s the history of Harry Kane,” said the other.
“Honestly Kane ending his career trophyless might be a more impressive feat than winning one or two,” another commented. “Kane bottling in the clutch?” said another. Not at all…”
