Dallas Cowboys: Micah Parsons Passionately Defends Dak Prescott in Heated Argument With Stephen A Smith
There has been a lot of finger-pointing after the Dallas Cowboys’ season came to a bitter end this season. After The Cowboys, who had a 12-5 record and were joint NFC leaders at the end of the season, lost in the first round of the playoffs once more. This time, the Green Bay Packers caused them grief by defeating Dallas by a resounding 48-32 margin in the Wild Card round.
Star quarterback Dak Prescott has, understandably, drawn a lot of flak following that heartbreaking defeat. How swiftly the supporters brandish pitchforks against the three-time Pro Bowler is no longer surprising. Cowboys standout Micah Parsons, for his part, thinks all the criticism is unjustified.
Following Parsons’s victory as MVP of the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday, the well-known Cowboys hater Stephen A. Smith of ESPN took a clear jab at the broadcaster.
When Parsons made a special appearance on Stephen A’s show, the former Defensive Player of the Year and Smith engaged in a heated debate. Among the subjects of discussion was Prescott and his play in the Packers defeat.
“You analyze everyone differently (than you do Dak),” Parsons said bluntly to Smith, accusing him of unfairly prejudiced against his Cowboys colleague.
This led to the pair going back and forth about the polarizing subject. Parsons then went on a lengthy monologue as he passionately came to Prescott’s defense while also taking accountability for their heartbreak against Green Bay:
“There’s got to be an important time when Dak does throw a pick … When I have to say, ‘Yo, No. 4, you do not have to stress, I got you. … In the Green Bay game, we could have done better,” Parsons said (h/t Mike Fisher of SI),
“… That’s why I don’t agree that it was just Dak Prescott. I know we could’ve done (better) defensively.”
To be fair to Stephen A, he let Parsons get all that off his chest. The ESPN analyst also agreed with Parsons’ statements about Dallas’ defense playing an integral role in their season-ending loss.
One thing you can say about Micah Parsons is that he’s never going to let anyone badmouth any of his teammates.
