Report: Spurs and Arsenal are ‘keen to do business’ for exciting Premier League winger
Pedro Neto is set to be sacrificed by Wolves in an attempt to stay on the right side of Financial Fair Play regulations, and Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are now likely to battle it out for his signature in the summer.
Premier League teams are nervous about FFP’s ongoing crackdown this season. This season, Everton has already been penalized with a ten-point deduction; it seems that the most recent inspections have put the Toffees, Nottingham Forest, and Wolves under the gun once more.
However, a number of player sales helped the Midlands club (The Athletic) avoid any penalties last month.
Spurs want Pedro Neto from Wolves
That doesn’t mean that their problems are over, though, as the team will apparently need to sell off a significant amount of property this summer in order to add players to Gary O’Neill’s roster. The Sun, who asserts that Spurs and Arsenal will try to get rid of Pedro Neto, says as much.
Tottenham is reportedly “keen to do business” with Neto, as it now “seems certain” that the Portuguese winger would be sent to Wolves.
It’s said that Neto has “long-term admirers” in Arsenal, and Manchester United and Liverpool have previously expressed interest in him. However, it is anticipated that the two London teams will “compete” for the player’s signature this summer.
