Fraser Forster shares what Ange Postecoglou told Tottenham’s players in his first days after joining
Fraser Forster has shared the message Ange Postecoglou gave the Tottenham Hotspur squad after his appointment that he continues to come back to.
Spurs have changed under Ange Postecoglou. It is simple to forget how much of a shambles the team seemed to be in the previous season. Tottenham may have been in the thick of a relegation struggle if it weren’t for Harry Kane’s form. To be sure, nobody seemed to be sorry to see the previous campaign come to a close.
However, Postecoglou assembled the pieces and vaulted Tottenham into the running for the Premier League crown. They are still in the top four. And throughout the season, they have without a doubt been among the top clubs to watch.
Fraser Forster describes what Tottenham’s team was instructed by Ange Postecoglou during their first meetings.
It appears that everyone has contributed to Postecoglou’s goals, regardless of status. And it makes sense when you hear him talk.
Fraser Forster revealed what Postecoglou told the players soon after his arrival from Celtic in an interview with That Peter Crouch Podcast.
He stated, “I believe the main thing when he first came in was you need to be a family.”
“You must consider one another to be family. Let’s imagine he is a family member and anything happened to him in a game. On the other hand, “he can sort it out” if you are strangers. He want for everyone to be really close and united.
“He keeps returning to that, as if it were the norm. You will press together if you want to press. In other words, he essentially invited everyone into a small group and included them all. That has been the main focus.
An expert in man-management
One of Postecoglou’s most apparent assets seems to be his ability to handle men. In the past, James Maddison has expressed how amazed he is by the meetings that Postecoglou arranges. And it’s obvious that Forster is a big fan.
All you have to do is see how much progress several players have made. Those that truly struggled last season included Richarlison, Heung-min Son, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, and Yves Bissouma.
Under Postecoglou, they have all been extremely important players. And they have improved so much this season, which is probably mostly due to his ability to manage those personalities.
