DONE DEAL: Nottingham Forest and Newcastle seal deal for star player

Morgan Gibbs-White, the star of Nottingham Forest, is being closely watched by Newcastle United for a January transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

Transfer reporter Pete O’Rourke stated that the Magpies may make a move for the 23-year-old if they increase their budget this month, which includes the anticipated sale of Miguel Almiron, in an interview with the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast.

Eddie Howe’s team will need to pay a hefty price to get the adaptable attacker to St. James’ Park, as it is anticipated that Forest will be hesitant to let him go.

Football Insider reported on January 24 that the club is still in advanced negotiations with Al-Shabab of the Saudi Pro League on a transfer fee for Almiron, with a deal rumored to be “very close.”

After Bayern Munich made three bids for Kieran Trippier, the Bundesliga’s top team announced they are no longer interested in signing him.

Since his rumored £35 million move to the City Ground in the summer of 2022, Gibbs-White has made an impression in the Premier League.

In 22 games, he has contributed three goals and three assists for a Forest team that is sliding toward relegation and could lose points due to a charge of violating the Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

The Magpies understand that in order to fulfill their FFP commitments, they must sell players before adding new players.

Callum Wilson, a target for Atletico Madrid and AC Milan, would need to be sold for a deal of £20 million, according to well-placed sources who spoke with Football Insider on January 23.

Following four straight losses, the most recent coming on Saturday, January 13, against Man City, Newcastle is currently ranked tenth in the Premier League.

On Saturday, January 27, they will go to west London to play Fulham in the FA Cup’s fourth round.

In other news, sources say Newcastle United wants to “cash in” on their star player, with a deal worth £100 million reportedly likely.
