‘Something happened behind the scenes’ before Djed Spence quit Leeds for Tottenham
After recovering from a ligament injury, the full-back only made seven appearances, but Farke has since hinted that there might have been problems with his “professionalism” and “discipline.”
Spence has the potential to be a very good player, Hutton insisted, but he needs to put his head down and concentrate on his game.
“I think it’s an odd one,” he said to Football Insider.
“I really liked him at Nottingham Forest and then Tottenham came in for him with the big money.
“I felt he might have had a chance under Ange Postecoglou, and I was really excited to see what he was capable of.
However, after reading Daniel Farke’s remarks, you might assume that anything unusual took on behind the scenes.
Is he not exerting himself enough? Does he lack focus?
He seems like a man who wants to learn when I watch him play on the field.
It’s unfortunate to see this happen because he has every quality needed to be a full-back in the modern day.
With his new loan move, perhaps he can focus and go out and prove to people what a quality player he is.
