Good news; Tottenham has just signed a magnificient striker for £80.5m
Tottenham Hotspur is about to pull off a massive surprise acquisition by signing Timo Werner on a loan, the striker who previously played for Chelsea.
Werner, who already experienced a terrible period in England with Chelsea, is free to depart RB Leipzig once more in January and has been connected to Manchester United.
But it appears like Tottenham will prevail in the race for Werner instead.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany claims that Spurs are currently “on the verge” of bringing in Werner on a six-month loan from the German team. It is said that talks are nearing their conclusion and that if the specifics are worked out, the agreement should be completed.
Tottenham backs out of the deal, saying they “won’t do anything crazy” and that their offer of €18–20 million is sufficient.
The Gazzetta della Sport issue from this Saturday doesn’t exactly seem good for Tottenham’s prospects of signing Radu Dragusin soon.
It had appeared, at least at one point in the last week, that the Genoa player would eventually move from Serie A to the Premier League.
Subsequently, Napoli gained the upper hand, and Genoa—possibly encouraged by the numerous stories circulated across the European press—opted to increase their asking price to €35 million.
That was in spite of the chatty representative for Dragusin publicly declaring that Genoa desired less.
According to Gazzetta, Tottenham “won’t do anything crazy” to sign Dragusin and “no intention” of shelling out a lot of cash for a “alternative.”
The Italian publication defines “alternative” as a squad member.
The permanent transfer of Leo Ostigard and the loan of Alessandro Zanoli are included in Napoli’s €15 million offer.
According to Gazzetta, Genoa is waiting for Tottenham’s offer and would like payment in cash. The offer is, meanwhile, also mentioned as being “unlikely to exceed €18–20m.”
Napoli is thought to think they can win because of Spurs’ unwillingness to overpay.
