Just in; West Ham United to give out defender on loan
West Ham United defender Thilo Kehrer has joined AS Monaco on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season, with a view to making the transfer permanent in the summer.
With Monaco sitting third in the standings at the midseason break with a round of 64 matchup this weekend at RC Lens, the Germany international is making his way back to Ligue 1.
Since joining the Hammers in the summer of 2022 from another Ligue 1 team, Paris Saint-Germain, Kehrer has made 50 appearances. Among those was an appearance as a substitute in the team’s June triumph against Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa Conference League final. The 27-year-old has, however, only made 12 appearances this season, with just two starts.
Best wishes for Thilo’s loan term in the Principality of Monaco are extended by the whole West Ham team.

German international Thilo Kehrer (27 caps) is scheduled to return to Ligue 1 Uber Eats with AS Monaco. Kehrer has experience in both the Bundesliga and the Premier League, having played in both leagues during his four seasons with Paris SG (2018–2022).
His FC Schalke 04 debut
The Tübingen, close to Stuttgart, native made his debut in Germany.After joining FC Schalke 04 in 2012, he trained with them. He participated in over a hundred games for the youth teams there, where in 2015, he captained them to the German U19 title. Shortly later, on February 6, 2016, he made his professional debut against Wolfsburg in a Bundesliga match (winning 3-0).
Thilo Kehrer, a versatile player who could play all defensive positions, established himself as a vital member of the Schalke squad. Replaced in a three-man defense in the 2017–18 campaign, he and Breel Embolo had a significant role in the team’s Bundesliga second-place result this year.
A 2020 season finalist for the Champions League
Paris Saint-Germain saw Thilo Kehrer’s impressive displays in Germany and signed him in 2018. With two or three center defenders in the lineup, he was at ease and soon gained playing time under Thomas Tuchel.
The 1.86-meter defender first learned about the Champions League with Paris. He won 6-1 against Red Star Belgrade in the competition’s inaugural year. He went on to play in about 20 European games, including matches against legendary teams like Liverpool, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, and Manchester City, and he finished as a starter against Bayern Munich in the 2020 Champions League final.
With 128 appearances for the PSG, Thilo Kehrer won the Trophée des champions in 2019, the Coupe de France twice (2020 and 2021), the Ligue 1 championship three times (2019, 2020, and 2022), and the Coupe de la Ligue once (2020).
West Ham and the Europa Conference League winners
In the summer of 2022, he left the Paris club after four years and joined West Ham in the Premier League. The Hammers’ historic season included Thilo Kehrer, who helped them win the UEFA Europa League versus Fiorentina and their first European championship since the European Cup Winners’ Cup nearly sixty years prior (1965).
Thilo, who participated in 33 games for the German national youth team and was frequently called up, won the 2017 European Under-21 Championship.

In September 2018, he received his first call-up to Joachim Low’s Germany squad due to his exceptional performances and consistency at the top level. The defender participated in 27 games for Germany and was selected for the Nationalmannschaft team to compete in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
