Done deal; tottenham signs 6ft 3′ star, a £26m deal
According to the Italian publication Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur has apparently been expressing a strong interest in acquiring Radu Dragusin, a top player for Genoa, during the impending transfer window.
Given their injury issues, Spurs appear to have been considering the prospect of adding a new defender to their roster in January.
Due to injury problems, Micky van de Ven has missed play during the past few months. Cristian Romero has now also been added to the list of casualties following a recent hamstring injury.
The North London club has reportedly expressed interest in a number of players, including Lloyd Kelly, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Jarrad Branthwaite. However, they also seem to be keeping an eye on Dragusin.
According to the report by Calciomercato, Tottenham have been showing a serious interest in signing Dragusin and they are set to open formal talks with Genoa ‘in the next few hours’ to broker a deal for him.
Spurs to Dragusin
The source also states that Genoa is prepared to cash in on Dragusin in January should they receive an offer from Tottenham or another possible suitor in the neighborhood of £26 million. To sign their main target for a fair price, Ange Postecoglou’s team can.
As Roma, Napoli, AC Milan, and Atalanta are also preparing a move for Dragusin, Calciomercato claims that it won’t be simple for the North London team to acquire him.
Dragusin has gained popularity recently due to his Serie A exploits, and if he moves to the recently refurbished White Hart Lane in January, the North Londoners will be hoping he can repeat his success there in the Premier League.
At 6 feet 3 inches tall, the 21-year-old is a superb defender. He reads the game well, is strong, adept in the air, and possesses a long-range passing sense.
The Romanian might be a wise addition for Tottenham because he is a gifted player with a lot of promise. It would be intriguing to see, though, if the Lilywhites decide to take a more serious stance in their pursuit of the Genoa star during the next winter window.
