‘Incredible’ Tottenham midfielder has a muscle strain and may not be fit for Everton game

Giovani Lo Celso could miss out on Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Everton on Saturday due to a muscle injury.

In the middle of the park on Saturday, Ange Postecoglou is anticipated to have few alternatives following Yves Bissouma’s red card at the City Ground on Friday.

The Mali international’s late challenge on Ryan Yates resulted in a straight red card during the 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Naturally, Rodrigo Bentancur and James Maddison will be out of the Spurs lineup till the new year.

Although Giovani Lo Celso has been playing well lately for the Tottenham team, he was unable to travel to the City Ground due to an injury he sustained during practice.

The Argentine midfielder is still expected to miss Saturday’s match, according to The Evening Standard.

Lo Celso could miss Everton game

According to the report, Lo Celso is reportedly doubtful for the Everton match due to a strained muscle.

Postecoglou might then choose to name a makeshift midfield that includes Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Lo Celso is regarded as a “incredible” player and has demonstrated traits that suggest he might play a significant role in Postecoglou’s squad.

Before returning to the bench for the victory over Newcastle earlier this month, the 27-year-old scored twice in three starts.

However, it is well known that the midfield player has had injury problems while playing for Spurs.

In fact, he sustained a hamstring injury during his first start of the season at Fulham in August, which forced him to miss the entire campaign.

Tottenham are short of creative options in midfield at the moment, with Bissouma also now suspended for four games.

Postecoglou will be hopeful that Lo Celso’s injury is nothing too serious and it would be a huge boost to have him available for Saturday’s game.
