‘HERE WE GO’: Tottenham has reached personal agreement with winger ahead of January transfer
The print edition of TuttoSport (as relayed by Sport Witness) has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have already reached out to Juventus regarding a January deal for Samuel Iling-Junior.
Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of conjecture linking Iling-Junior to a move to Tottenham. According to a number of Italian outlets, the Lilywhites are leading the pack to sign the attacker, who is eager to leave Juventus in search of consistent playing time (TMW).
Football Insider even asserted earlier this week that Ange Postecoglou, the England Under-21 international, is Spurs’ “dream signing,” and that the team is prepared to step up their efforts to bring him to North London.
Spurs contact Juventus over Samuel Iling-Junior
Tottenham and Juventus have already exchanged messages regarding a possible transfer for Iling-Junior.
According to the report, Spurs are not deterred by the Serie A giant’s €20 million (£17.4 million) asking price because the player is a “great interest” to the team.
According to the report, there will likely be more communication between the two teams in the upcoming days as Postecoglou’s team wants to make sure the deal closes in time for the January transfer window.
Tottenham appears to be in the driver’s seat and well-positioned to seal the deal, based on the numerous reports that have surfaced about Iling-Junior over the past week.
The only possible problem for Spurs, though, would be if the young player has reservations about playing regularly at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Instead of signing with one of the big six, the 20-year-old might be persuaded to take a stepping stone to a Premier League team in the middle of the table.

Spurs prevailed in a thrilling six-goal match at the Etihad Stadium to earn a hard-fought point against the reigning champions.

Nevertheless, Tottenham persevered and fought their way back into the match in the closing minutes of the second half. In the 69th minute, Giovani Lo Celso’s incredible strike from outside the box tied the score at 2-2 for Spurs.
But in the 81st minute, Jack Grealish put Haaland’s ball in the back of the net to give City the lead again.
And in the ninetieth minute, Dejan Kulusevski hammered home a forceful header to bring Spurs back to parity just as the supporters were starting to lose hope.

“He performed admirably for the first goal, but there was simply too much power.”
Aside from his role in the opening goal, the Spaniard found it difficult to contain Kyle Walker. The former Spurs full-back was very at ease covering GIl, who was unable to create much of a threat from the left.
