Hammers will carry on talking

With the winter window drawing near and Divin Mubama having had his first real opportunity to make an impression this season against Burnley, the Hammers will continue to speak with his representatives.

Right now, the player needs a run of games more than anything else, and it appears that he will get them every time. The Hammers take on Backa Topola in Serbia on Thursday night, and it now appears as though he will have his chance, either with Danny Ings or ahead of him, as a number of our insiders have expressed hope.

Mubama has been with the club since he was eight years old and sources close to the player insist that he wants a new West Ham deal as he is much a fan of the club as he is a player.

One told us that this is more of a transaction where the boxes related to his future are checked than one that is motivated by money.

These days, elite strikers are extremely expensive, so it makes perfect sense that the boy would be used frequently. Starting this week in Serbia, our key insider said, “We need to come to an agreement and we will carry on talking.”

And someone who knows the teenager well added, “We are confident we can close a deal.”
