Raphinha may be joining the Saudi Pro League instead, according to rumors, thus Tottenham’s hopes of signing him could be dashed. The winger has been linked to Spurs, who apparently were willing to send a player to Barcelona as part of the deal.

Ange Postecoglou wants to add more players to the squad in order to capitalize on his strong start at Tottenham. The team enjoyed its best start to a season since they won the double in 1961 when he won nine of his first ten Premier League games in charge.

During his first window in command, the Australian made significant acquisitions, bringing in Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, and James Maddison. To contend with teams like Manchester City, Spurs will need to bolster their depth at several spots.

There was a big void in the assault after Harry Kane left, which Heung-min Son has done a great job of filling thus far. However, Postecoglou has few choices to choose from behind the customary starting lineup.

Tottenham has been connected to a deal for Raphinha as a result. According to Spanish publication Sport, they will work hard to sign the former Leeds player in January.

Raphinha is apparently being sought for roughly £61 million by Barca, a price that Spurs now considers excessive. Nevertheless, the residents of North London were prepared to lower the cost by providing players with in return.

According to the source, Barca is interested in Cristian Romero among other names. But a recent development has cast serious doubt on any possible swap agreement.

Sport reported on Wednesday that Raphinha is a top target for Al-Hilal, a Saudi Pro League team. Neymar is now sidelined for Al-Hilal because of an anterior cruciate ligament injury he sustained earlier in the season.

They have targeted Neymar’s international teammate in an attempt to bring in reinforcements out wide. Al-Hilal presently leads the Saudi Arabian market, and with their financial capabilities, they could easily outbid Spurs on any deal.

During his previous stay in England, Raphinha made 67 appearances for Leeds, tallying 12 assists and scoring 17 goals. However, Spurs might not be able to get him back to the Premier League this time.

In January, Postecoglou also hopes to bolster defenses. Due to Romero’s suspension and Van van den Ven’s injury, Eric Dier and Ben Davies have recently been pressed into action.
