‘LAUGHABLE’: Pundit makes bizarre prediction of teams to finish top four ahead of Tottenham this season

Over Tottenham Hotspur, Tony Cascarino has supported Aston Villa to place in the top four this season.

With Spurs having won eight and drawn two of their opening 10 Premier League games, several commentators were seriously doubting if Ange Postecoglou’s team could fight for the championship until a little over a week ago.

But Tottenham’s two consecutive losses to Chelsea and Wolves have exposed their vulnerabilities.

The Lilywhites’ lack of depth in the team was evident in the 2-1 loss at Molineux Stadium, which was mostly caused by the injuries and suspensions of important players.

After the international break, Tottenham will take on Aston Villa in what appears to be a six-point matchup; Unai Emery’s team is now one point behind the Lilywhites.

Who will place among this season’s Premier League top four?

Cascarino has now stated that the Villans have a greater chance than Tottenham to advance to the Champions League.

The pundit on The Game Podcast responded, “No,” when asked if he thought the current top four would still be in place at the end of the season. Villa will, in my opinion, [finish in the top four]. Even though they have had days where I ask myself, “Really?,” they are a side that has so much going for them.

It was very strange to see them against Forest last week since Forest just ran them up and gave Villa a lot of trouble. However, I think Villa will be there given their home record and a little improvement in their away games.

Rather than Tottenham. Without a doubt, I think Tottenham will lose out. There is much for Villa to be enthusiastic about.

It always seemed to me that Chelsea would be our primary rival for a top-four position because Mauricio Pochettino would eventually find the ideal lineup.

The Argentine has seemingly already accomplished that and is beginning to get a tune out of the Stamford Bridge players.
