‘It is Beale’s’: Chris Sutton’s 23-word message after dramatic day for Celtic & Rangers
Chris Sutton put it mildly on Twitter but he thinks Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic had a ‘good day’ in the Premiership on Saturday.
Rest confident that it was far better than merely “good” given the extraordinary way in which the Bhoys defeated Motherwell to get three points, especially given the fact that everything was once again going perfectly for Rangers at Ibrox.
Michael Beale was receiving more jeers after his Rangers team suffered a deserving 3-1 loss to Aberdeen, and Chris Sutton couldn’t resist but poke fun at him on Twitter.
Rangers are now seven points behind Celtic in the standings, with St Mirren, who are currently second and four points behind them after their 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock, posing the largest threat.
Both domestically and internationally, this upcoming month will be significant for Celtic and Brendan Rodgers.
When Lazio travel to Glasgow on Wednesday night for the Champions League, Matt O’Riley’s last-second goal will still be up in the air, but a victory over the Italians, combined with three points against Kilmarnock, would be the ideal way to enter the international break.
Chris Sutton’s reaction to Celtic and Rangers results
On Celtic result: “Good day for Matt O’Riley and Celtic,” wrote Sutton.
On Aberdeen beating Rangers: “Well played Barry Robson and Aberdeen. It is Michael Beale’s Rangers team as well this season…” added Sutton
Early goal needed against Lazio
Lazio, who were defeated by AC Milan on Saturday, hasn’t had a fantastic start to the Serie A season after returning to the Champions League.
They are having trouble in the lower portion of the standings, which Celtic must simply exploit.
In the Champions League matches from the previous season, there were numerous quick and exciting starts. It just lacked that initial objective.
It will be impossible for Lazio to stop Celtic from making another fantastic night in Europe if they score the first goal against them.
