BBC Sport journalist shares ‘looking good’ West Ham United verdict after ‘dismal’ showing last season
Things are still “looking good” at West Ham despite their defeat against Liverpool, according to BBC Sport journalist Emlyn Begley.
The Hammers lost 3-1 to the Reds on Sunday (September 24), which was their second loss in the Premier League this year.
The team led by David Moyes is currently seventh in the standings after losing to Manchester City last Saturday (16 September) by the same score.

Begley commented for BBC Sport on September 24 that “despite this loss, things are still looking good at West Ham – sitting seventh, compared to last season’s dismal beginning.”
Many Hammers fans were shocked to learn that Moyes’s team had a solid start to the current Premier League season.
Although they have lost consecutive games, fans may not be very concerned given that both losses came against Manchester City and Liverpool, who are presently first and second in the standings, respectively.
The subsequent defeats came after good wins over Chelsea, Brighton, and Luton Town, and they came after a draw with Bournemouth on the first day of the season.
The East London team has also seen success in Europe; on Thursday, September 21, the Hammers defeated Backa Topola of Serbia 3-1 in the Europa League group stages.
The men in claret and blue will play Lincoln City in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday (September 27), while newly promoted Sheffield United will visit the London Stadium on Saturday (September 30) for a league match.
If Moyes and his team want to be successful in all competitions over the upcoming months, it will undoubtedly get more difficult.
