Sky Sports pundit, Micah Richards says “really intelligent” star could now join West Ham
Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards has suggested one “really intelligent” star could end up joining David Moyes at West Ham United.
Declan Rice, Gianluca Scamacca, Nikola Vlasic, and Arthur Masuaku were sold to the Hammers for £134 million during the summer, and their replacements include a quartet of top free agents.
During the transfer window, West Ham signed contracts for Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, Konstantinos Mavropanos, and Mohammed Kudus, with two of the former players off to very promising starts.
The media has been quite kind of Alvarez, while Ward-Prowse was really unlucky not to have been called up to Gareth Southgate’s England team for this international break.
“I wonder if Kalvin Phillips is playing when I see James Ward-Prowse in that. No. I believe the biggest one is Jordan Henderson, who left to move to Saudi Arabia. Following the announcement of the Three Lions team, former Spurs defender Michael Dawson stated, “He must be wondering how he’s not in any squads.
“He’s always one who probably gets the call going keep doing what you’re doing, but he’s been doing this for a really long time,” the speaker said. I feel bad for him since, most likely, Kalvin Phillips is the one he misses. We all know how devoted Gareth is to the players he has tried and trusted and who have never betrayed him.”
The Englishman, along with his new team West Ham, had a strong start to the Premier League season, therefore Ward-Prowse will undoubtedly feel unfairly treated.
Three of their four league games have ended in victories for Moyes’ team, including victories over expensive Chelsea and high-flying Brighton. They have gone undefeated through their first four league games.
Latest West Ham transfer news
Despite the fact that, based on their outstanding start, the Irons look to have strengthened their team excellently, there are a few players they were unable to completely secure a deal for.
That wasn’t for want of trying, as West Ham reportedly worked hard to secure a contract for Mavropanos as a backup before they were able to sign Man United defender Harry Maguire.
Scott McTominay of United, who Moyes was rumored to have expressed considerable interest in over the summer, was another star they had been linked to regularly.
The Scotsman and a potential transfer to West Ham are now the subject of a belief by Sky pundit Richards.
The former Man City defender claimed in an interview with the podcast “The Rest is Football” that McTominay’s current disastrous time at Old Trafford makes east London the most likely destination for him to move on from.
“We said West Ham was the culprit. On McTominay’s conceivable next move, Richards said, “Yeah.
He’s just an extremely smart, diligent midfielder who can do any task that is given to him, in my opinion.
“It’s just the pandemonium of Manchester United or the guy they had in the past, so people are constantly comparing him to Keane or Scholes and it’s always going to be challenging.”
“However, I think there is one player there who is outstanding.”
McTominay has received accolades in the past from Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, who once referred to their midfield tandem with Paul Pogba as the best in all of football.
