He won’t survive this: Kentucky man suffers again

Andrew Carr details back injury and gives update on his health for Kentucky basketball
Kentucky big man Andrew Carr has been one of the most consistent players for the Cats, when he is healthy. He gives an update on his status.
After dealing with an unexpected bout of back spasms, Kentucky forward Andrew Carr says heās finally turning a corner.Ā Speaking with reportersĀ on Monday, Carr provided an update on his health, sharing that he feels much better after taking time to recover. He is probably for the game againstĀ Ole Miss tonight.
A Frustrating Setback
āOut of nowhere, I ended up just getting a lot of spasms and was dealing with a cycle of pretty bad spasms,ā Carr explained. The issue forced him to miss Kentuckyās game against Vanderbilt, but that absence may have been exactly what he needed.
āI had a good week leading up to Vanderbilt and ended up not playing in that game,ā he said. āFelt like that gave me enough time to really calm those down and allow my back to settle in a little bit to where it has been, and weāre in a good spot.ā
Extra Stability and Recovery
To aid his recovery, Carr has been using a Hyperice Venom massaging heat belt wrapped around his lower back. āItās just a little bit of extra stability,ā he noted.
While back issues can be tricky, Carr feels confident in his progress and treatment. āFeeling good, feeling good,ā he said. āIt was certainly a tough stretch for me for a little bit. Iāve spent a lot of time with our trainers and been able to recover a little bit here, and Iām starting to stabilize a little bit and feel a whole lot better. Iām in a good spot.ā
Key Contributor for Kentucky
Carr has been a reliable piece in Kentuckyās rotation this season, averaging:
10.0 PPG
5.2 RPG
2.2 APG
53.0 FG%
His versatility in the frontcourt gives the Wildcats much-needed depth, and getting him back to full strength is crucial as Kentucky prepares for a tough stretch of conference play.
With his back improving, Carr is optimistic about staying on the floor and making an impact moving forward. For Kentucky, thatās great news as they continue their push toward the postseason. Now ifĀ Lamont ButlerĀ could just get healthy.
