Tottenham player won’t be sold by Daniel Levy for less than £17 million

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is unwilling to sell defender Davinson Sanchez for less than £17m.

According to a story from L’Equipe, that is the case.

The French site believes that Levy is unwilling to accept an offer for Davinson Sanchez that is below €20 million, or roughly £17 million, despite interest from Ligue 1 team Rennes.

The same source states that Tottenham rejected a loan offer from Borussia Dortmund for the center-back.

Only one of Tottenham’s three Premier League games this season had seen Sanchez on the field; he came off the bench in a 2-2 tie with Brentford.

£17m is a fair price for Davinson Sanchez

Rennes might not have the funds to pay Sanchez £17 million, but a major European power like Dortmund ought to be able to. Tottenham is being very reasonable in this situation, especially when you consider what they may receive.

He is a seasoned defender with years of Premier League experience, so Dortmund or Rennes wouldn’t be purchasing a rookie.

The Colombian international has a good deal of air strength as well. He won 3.8 aerial duels on average per game in the Champions League during the 2019–20 season, which was the highest average among Tottenham’s players (WhoScored).

It’s crucial to keep in mind that Spurs spent £40 million to acquire Sanchez from Ajax, so it stands to reason that they would like to recoup some of their investment.

In the end, even though Sanchez’s contract expires in the summer of 2019, £17 million is not an absurdly high asking price, especially considering Dortmund is one of the interested parties.

However, it appears that nobody is willing to make that payment, so either Levy lowers his demand or Sanchez stays with Ange Postecoglou’s team and completes the remainder of his contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Brennan Johnson one of three priorities for Daniel Levy and Tottenham on transfer deadline day

Here we take a look at what Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy needs to sort out for Ange Postecoglou ahead of Friday’s 11pm transfer deadline

In order to complete their summer business, Tottenham Hotspur is running out of time in the transfer window. Before the clock strikes 11 p.m. on Friday, Daniel Levy and the club still have a lot to settle. They have been busy with incomings so far but less so with outgoings.

With fewer than 30 hours till the window closes until the New Year, it seems that the Lilywhites will be prepared for a repeat. In years past, the final few hours of transfer windows tended to be particularly busy. What are Levy and Tottenham’s top priority in terms of transfers over the next few hours?Below, football.london looks.

Sign Johnson

Following Harry Kane’s departure for Bayern Munich, Spurs needed to strengthen their striker options, and Brennan Johnson of Nottingham Forest might be the player to accomplish just that. Tottenham must quickly come to a deal with the East Midlands club in order to add Postecoglou’s top frontline addition.

It will take a lot of money for Tottenham to lure him away from the City Ground, especially at this late point in the transfer window. His club is thought to value him at about the £50 million mark. The Lilywhites cannot allow this transaction to drag on indefinitely and risk losing the Wales international.

Given how vital it is to bring in another attacker before the transfer deadline, Tottenham must get this deal over the line as quickly as possible.
