‘THEY WILL’: WEST HAM TIPPED TO SECURE TRANSFER OF ‘TALENTED PLAYER’ BEFORE DEADLINE DAY
Darren Ambrose has backed David Moyes’ West Ham United to secure the transfer of Manchester United’s Harry Maguire before Friday’s deadline day.
The former midfielder thinks that a deal for Harry Maguire, to secure a move to West Ham United, ‘could be done’ and a ‘solution’ could yet be found.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, isn’t stating it in the media, but it appears that they would be pleased to get a transfer fee for the England defender so they could use the money to recruit other targets.
Even though he hasn’t played a single minute this season, some would say that Maguire is only the fifth-choice option at Old Trafford. Ambrose described Maguire as a “talented player” on The Transfer Show on Sky Sports.
The 2023 summer transfer window is closing in a matter of days, which means things could get even crazier as clubs rush to finish off their squads.
Ambrose believes that West Ham, who will compete in the Europa League this season, still has room to strengthen their backline.
“I believe that this is possible,” Ambrose stated. “I believe they will find a solution. Look, West Ham says “we are going to pay as much as we want” while Manchester United says it won’t be paid in full. It may be £25 million or something else.
Harry Maguire is so enjoying a comfortable seat. Guehi and Levi Colwill are candidates for England. All of them portraying characters similar to Harry Maguire, as well as the development of those skills, may compel Harry Maguire to accept a little less.
“It surprises me that only West Ham are interested in him,” at £25 million or some other price. I find it surprising at that amount. He is a skilled player.
Will Maguire earn England call?
All eyes will be on Maguire’s selection when Gareth Southgate names England’s team on Thursday for the forthcoming international matches.
He had played virtually little football prior to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but the England manager still chose him, as he usually has, regardless of his performance or his club status.
It will be fascinating to see what decision he makes today, but given that he hasn’t played much ball this season, he probably likely choose him because that’s what he usually does.
