Ian Wright has backed Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur to sign Nottingham Forest forward, Brennan Johnson.
Brennan Johnson would be the “perfect” player for Tottenham, according to the legendary Arsenal player, and he is someone who is “very exciting,” much like their successful summer acquisition, James Maddison.
Wright told Premier League Productions on August 28 at 2:40 p.m. that if Johnson transfers from Nottingham Forest to Tottenham, the new-look club may become “very, very dangerous.” The transfer deadline is quickly approaching.
With Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski scoring during the win at Bournemouth on Saturday, Tottenham’s attacking line has only combined for two Premier League goals so far this season, shocking goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.
While Richarlison and other players like him continue to struggle, Spurs are eager to strengthen their front line and there are rumors that they will make a strong effort for Johnson on Friday, the transfer deadline day.
Wright, however, was quite clear in his opinion that Johnson ought to obtain a transfer to the Spurs.
Wright stated, “I have seen them linked with Brennan Johnson.” “That midfield, in and around there, with Bissouma, Sarr, Bentancur, and Maddison, then with Richarlison up front.
If you can find a Brennan Johnson, you will be dealing with a Tottenham team that is beginning to cause a lot of issues.
“If they can sign another winger, like the dynamic Brennan Johnson. He would be the ideal player for Tottenham. I could fully see it happening, just like I do with Maddison, and at that point, Tottenham would start to appear to be a very, very dangerous team.
