Harry Kane’s transfer to Tottenham has been accepted by Bayern Munich, but there is still more work to be done.

It’s true that Bayern must now persuade the Tottenham striker to switch from his hometown team to the Bundesliga, and that is no simple assignment.

Kane has supported Spurs through all the highs and lows of his career, so leaving is a difficult choice for him to make even though he has every right to do so.

It’s interesting to note that Kane is still inclined to remain at Tottenham, according to Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports.

This is a massive update, and one that Spurs fans will undoubtedly be buzzing to hear.

Yes, £100m for Kane would be good business with one year left on his contract, but at the end of the day, football is about the game that is played on the pitch, and Spurs will be a better team for having Kane in their squad next season.

In all honesty, we can understand why Kane is hesitant to leave Tottenham.

He definitely has a great passion for the team, and even though they haven’t been able to provide the striker any trophies to yet, they are ready to embark on a new period under a promising new management that might pay off.

There is also the personal side, of course. London-born Kane is content where he is with his wife and family and moving to Germany would upend many aspects of his personal life.

We’ve seen British athletes struggle to make a life abroad before; just ask Ian Rush and Gareth Bale about it. At this stage of his career, Kane might not be too eager to uproot his family and change everything.

Kane could well stay at Tottenham.
