Report: Tottenham very much ready to wrap up loan deal for central defender in coming days
The clearout at Tottenham Hotspur looks to have begun with out of favour central defender Joe Rodon on his way to Leeds United on a season-long loan deal.
The Wales international did not play in any of the matches against West Ham United or Lion City Sailors despite being a member of Ange Postecoglou’s team for the preseason tour of Asia-Pacific.
Rodon was not included in the Australian side that traveled to Barcelona for yesterday’s 4-2 loss in the Joan Gamper Trophy, nor was he included in the team that played at home against Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday.
Joe Rodon will join Leeds United on loan
The Telegraph football reporter Mike McGrath took to social media o reveal news of the move and claimed the move will be confirmed in the coming days.
Leeds, who suffered relegation to the Championship on the final day of last season having failed to beat Tottenham and see other results go their way had a rude awakening to their first fixture back in England’s second tier last weekend when they had to come from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home to Cardiff City.
McGrath wrote on Twitter/X: “Tottenham have agreed a deal for Wales centre-back Joe Rodon to join Leeds on a season-long loan. Formalities of deal to follow in coming days.”

With Tottenham’s dressing room becoming even more crowded, following the arrivals of Micky van de Ven and Alejo Veliz, it was only a matter of time before some of the fringe players are sent packing for the season ahead.
Rodon’s loan spell at Rennes last season was also something of a frustration having failed to hold down a consistent place in the starting eleven of the Ligue 1 outfit and will now look to kick-start his career back in England at Leeds.
