West Ham may have a very intriguing midfield after Dharmesh Sheth’s claim.
The Sky Sports analyst has revealed what he has learned about West Ham’s probable summer move of James Ward-Prowse.
After Dharmesh Sheth claim, West Ham could have a very exciting midfield
Sheth was interviewed last night at 5:03 p.m. on the Sky Sports Transfer Show.
And he revealed what is happening behind the scenes in the Hammers’ pursuit of the Southampton star right now:
Because of what Manchester United wants in exchange for McTominay, and based on what I’ve been told, don’t rule out West Ham making a second bid for James Ward-Prowse.
For the supporters of the Hammers, the idea of seeing Ward-Prowse positioned in the middle of the field alongside Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez should be very thrilling.
This summer, Southampton is asking for £40 million for the 11-cap England international (The Times).
So I would imagine that the two clubs will end up meeting in the middle somewhere – around £35 million.
I think Ward-Prowse would be a strong addition for the Hammers – for his ability from set-pieces alone! However, he is a leader as as well and possesses very good technical ability.
It’s just a shame that West Ham will probably have to pay over the odds for Ward-Prowse in the end.
That said, his leadership skills will be absolutely vital for the Hammers this season, after having lost two different captains in back-to-back campaigns. And with that in mind, perhaps it will be worth paying that little bit more for Ward-Prowse this summer.
