Harry Kane wife responds to three-word Tottenham transfer clue amid Bayern Munich standoff
Harry Kane has suggested on social media that he may stay at Tottenham after all, but Bayern Munich remain determined to secure his signature
Harry Kane’s wife, Kate, has commented on her husband’s coy Instagram post which was posted after Tottenham’s final pre-season fixture. The 30-year-old striker, who faces an increasingly uncertain future in north London, scored four goals in a 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday.
Following his outstanding performance, Kane came to the field for a lap of honor, applauded by all four stands of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. While the England international fueled curiosity over his future, others feel he put any rumors of a departure to rest on social media.
“Ramping it up,” Kane wrote, implying that he might stay at the Lilywhites. Unsurprisingly, the post was flooded with Bayern Munich fans pleading with the striker to join them, but amid the crowd was a message from his partner, Kate, who simply posted four fire emojis.
After the friendly against Shakhtar, Ange Postecoglou was asked if Kane is in contention to feature against Brentford on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season. The Bees will welcome Tottenham to Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday afternoon, August 13.
“Yeah, I don’t think that (professionalism) has ever been in question about Harry,” said Postecoglou. “His whole career he has shown that. He was good today and the majority of our stuff was fairly positive. Obviously still got a fair few things to work on.
“I am just planning for preparing the team for Tuesday and then we’ll work our way into Brentford for next week,” added the Spurs boss. “I haven’t even thought about who will start that game. It is about trying to have as many players ready for that fixture as possible and we’ve still got guys coming in.
“We signed young Ashley Phillips on Friday and he’ll train with the first team. We hopefully have another couple coming in over the next couple of days. All those kind of things are part of the planning and I’ll deal with the team for Brentford at the back end of the week.”
Tottenham had been in communication with Kane’s entourage to explore a new deal before to the departure of Fabio Paratici in April, football.london understood. However, the Englishman is thought to be hesitant to sign an extension while weighing his alternatives during the summer transfer season.
Despite significant interest from Bayern, Daniel Levy seems determined to hold onto Kane, who will not force an exit. For now, it remains to be seen whether the German giants will spend big on the Spurs ace.
